One of my favorite 1980’s animated series is the Thundercats. It was fun to watch with interesting characters. Cheetara was fabulous. The thing I liked most about the Thundercats they never gave up. They could always find the light at the end of the tunnel.
We Have Hope
“We have the sword, we have each other but most importantly we have Hope.” - Cheetara*
Sometimes heroes come from different planets and just fight to survive. The planet Thundera is war ridden. The people of Thundera are cat-like humanoids and they are attacked by other worldly beings, the Mutants of Plunn-Dar. The young emperor, Lion-O, and his attendants Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit and WilyKat, and Snarf, escape with the Sword of Omens. This is a powerful weapon that contains the Eye of Thundera in its hilt. The escapees awake from suspended animation on Third-Earth where they must fight the Mutants and the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra. Cheetara has the abilities of a cheetah, speed, jumping and acrobats. She defends herself with a staff. Cheetara is always a voice of reason and hope.
We may have great weapons. We may even have several people with us but what good is abilities, weapons and followers without Hope. Seriously we can do anything with Hope. President Obama said, “While we breathe we hope.” No words are truer. Anything can be accomplished with Hope. That is the one lesson any superhero can teach us – never give up Hope!
